In a globalised planet that needs to preserve its non-renewable resources, recycling has become one of the key factors in protecting the environment and reducing the emission of greenhouse gases. The automotive industry is not exempt from this concern, given the massive amount of inert and recyclable waste it generates each year, such as plastics, metals, rubber, glass, foam fillers, textiles, electronic waste, etc. In this respect, the LIFE PST-SORT project offers an automated and easy-to-integrate solution for waste recovery plants of end-of-life vehicles as well as for a wide range of industrial wastes. The PICVISA optical sorters, at the end of the process line, guarantee the highest recovery rates of recyclable materials.
